This article describes how to select what columns to show or hide in a grid and then how you save your column selections in Next Project, which we call Favorite Views. 

Show and hide columns

In all modules in Next Project, you can choose which columns you want to display and in what order you want the columns should be. 

To pic what columns to show or hide, follow the steps below:

1. Hover over any column header and click the down arrow that appears, then select 'Columns'. 
   Or click the Favorite View button that looks like a window at the far right above the column headers and then click 'Show dialog'. 

                    

    

2. You will then see a list of all columns available to choose from in the current module.

   

    

3. Check the columns you want to turn on and uncheck the columns you want to turn off, then click Apply. The columns have now changed only for your user; if your colleagues want to make changes, they need to log in and follow the same steps.

Save your column selections as favorite views

In the column dialog view, you have the option to save your column selections for later, which we call favorite views. You can save multiple favorite views in the same module. Favorite views are user-specific, but we are working on the possibility to share favorite views between users. 

1. Open the box for all columns by clicking the Favorite View button that looks like a window at the far right above the column headers and then click 'Show dialog'.
2. Click 'New view'
3. Enter a name for the view in the pop-up box and click 'OK'.
4. Check/uncheck the columns you want to display.
5. Click 'Save view'. 

The favorite view also saves your column order. 

Change your column selections in a favorite view

Below is how to adjust the columns included in a favorite view.

1. Open the dialog for column selection.
2. Select your favorite view from the list.
3. Check/uncheck the columns you want to display.

4. Click 'Save view'. 

    

Column order

You can choose the order you want your columns in by clicking on the column header, dragging, and dropping it where you want it. The column order have now changed for your user; if your colleagues want to make changes, they need to log in and follow the same steps.

You can save different column orders by using favorite views. 

Adjust column order in a favorite view

Below  we describe how to adjust the order of columns in your favorite view.

1. Click on the Favorite View button that looks like a window at the far right above the column headers and mark the favorite view in which you want to change the column order.
2. Adjust the order of the columns by dragging and dropping them.
3. Click again on the Favorite View button to bring up the drop-down menu, and now click Save view.
