Climate reporting via digital dispatch notes has been on Next Project’s radar ever since the requirements from the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) began to be gradually introduced in 2024. However, it is only after the turn of the year 2025/2026 that the demands from clients and our customers have become clear enough for us to seriously begin detailed work on the solution. The goal is to create an ongoing overview of fuel usage and transport of materials in construction and operational contracts — in line with the BEAst standard and the PEPPOL network.
Two cornerstones are central to our ambition: climate reporting according to BEAst, which provides clients and suppliers with fact-based information about CO2 emissions linked to transportation, and Advanced Despatch Advice with Receipt Advice, which enables a fully digital confirmation flow where the recipient can confirm or reject a delivery directly in the system.
So far, climate reporting in Next Project is considered to be in beta phase. This means the function may be changed to improve workflows, interface, and logic. During this time, no charges will be applied for this feature.
Focus 2026
Throughout 2026, we have worked broadly and in parallel across three areas: we have strengthened stability and user experience by fixing bugs and refining the interface, delivered new features and expanded integration with recipients, and ensured that our XML generation and transmission flow meet industry standards for BEAst and PEPPOL. Overall, this year’s deliveries represent a significant step toward a complete, industry-adapted flow for digital dispatch notes.
Summary of delivered improvements in 2026:
XML Generation & Transmission Flow
The transmission flow has been updated with new XML nodes and improved default values. It is now possible to send dispatch notes via electronic address or organization number. A new dialog during sending allows the user to choose whether prices should be included and which reference type to use. Unit prices are now consistently sent instead of total prices in the XML file.
UI Improvements & New Columns
The dispatch note tab has received a modernized interface where customer information and shipment information are presented more clearly. In the work order and change order (ÄTA) grids, all dispatch note-related columns are now grouped together for better clarity. New columns have been added for reference numbers, prices, price list, account code, as well as start and stop locations in text format. Field names have been corrected and column visibility is now controlled by user permissions.
Validation, Receipts & Status
It is now possible to validate a dispatch note’s XML content to ensure it complies with BEAst and PEPPOL rules, with results presented in a new window. Support for Receipt Advice has been introduced, meaning the system can receive and display receipts from the recipient. A new cancellation button makes it possible to cancel a sent dispatch note. Unused statuses have been removed, and buttons and status names have been updated for increased clarity.
CO2 Emissions
A new CO2 summary is now available directly in the dispatch note tab, with totals per project and the ability to drill down into the project hierarchy. The summary includes CO2 emissions, fuel consumption, distance, and time, and can be exported to Excel.
Price Lists & Items
External price lists can now be managed and updated with ListID directly in the Admin interface. Item numbers on price list articles no longer need to be unique. Customer information and price list details are editable until the dispatch note is sent. A new XML preview function has been added.
Upcoming in 2026:
The feature is currently being prepared for release, with plans to launch it before the end of Q3. It will then begin to be charged according to the price list below:
- Dispatch note feature including 500 sent dispatch notes – 1000 SEK/month
- Sent dispatch notes 500+ – 0.95 SEK each
Immediately after summer, work will begin in earnest to be able to receive digital dispatch notes with climate reporting. This will be a completely new interface where incoming dispatch notes are received and managed for further processing in the project within Next Project.
