This article describes how you can work with statuses in Journal 2.0.
Default Settings
A default set of journal statuses comes with the journal module.
The default settings are as follows:
-
Started – This status is set as the default when a journal entry is created (Default is chosen for this status).
-
Approved by Performer – Used to indicate that the performer has approved the content of the journal entry.
-
Sent to Customer – Used to indicate that the journal entry has been sent to the customer/orderer.
-
Approved by Customer – Used to indicate that the journal entry has been approved by the customer/orderer. This status locks the journal entry, preventing further editing, except for changing the status. (Locks journal entry is chosen for this). NOTE! If you uncheck Locks journal entry, all previously locked journals will no longer be locked, and new journal entries will not be locked when this status is set.
Locks Journal Entries
If you set Locks Journal Entry for a status, the journal entry cannot be edited (except for changing the status) when that status is set on the journal entry. In the default setup of journal statuses, it is Approved by Customer that locks the journal entry.
The first status with Locks journal entry also makes the journal report show the Approval date and Approved by for the date when the journal entry received that status and which user in Project updated it to that status.
We recommend keeping these statuses according to the default setup.
