This article explains the Extended security feature, which provides an additional layer of access protection for sensitive folders by applying a domain filter to restrict access based on email addresses or domains. It covers how to configure the domain filter settings, select folders to protect, and what to expect once the setup is complete.
This feature requires special authorization. Please contact support to get access.
Extended security gives you an extra layer of protection for your sensitive folders. By applying a domain filter to a folder, you can block anyone who doesn't meet the filter criteria — even if they've accidentally been granted access through a rights group.
Setting up extended security
- Click Menu.
- Click Settings.
- Click Extended security.
Settings section in DOX showing available module tiles; note the highlighted Utökad säkerhet tile.
- In the domain filter field, enter the addresses you want to allow access. You can enter a full domain (for example, @dox.se) or specific email addresses. If you're adding more than one, separate them with commas.
- Check the boxes next to the folders you want to protect with the domain filter.

What to expect after setup
- Any folder protected by the domain filter will display a green shield in the folder structure, so you can easily spot which folders are secured.
- For users in the domain filter to be able to see a protected folder, they also need the appropriate rights granted through an admin group. See Admin groups for more details.
