This article explains how to create file shortcuts in the system, covering both dynamic and static shortcut types and their differences. It also describes how to list and navigate to existing shortcuts, including how to identify each shortcut type by its icon color.
Requires the right Write, see Admin groups.
Create a shortcut
- Select the files you want to create a shortcut for — see Select files.
- Click Selected files.
- Click Shortcut.

- Select your destination folder.
Check Static shortcut if you want to create a static shortcut. Otherwise, move on to the next step and a dynamic shortcut will be created instead.
– Dynamic shortcut (default) — updates to the latest file version automatically.
– Static shortcut — not updated to the latest file version automatically. - Click Save.

List shortcuts
- Click on the row for a shortcut.
– Dynamic shortcut = black arrow
– Static shortcut = orange arrow - Click Shortcuts.

- The path to the original file and its shortcuts are displayed. Click Go to folder to open the folder.
