Here you will find an FAQ for e-Invoice
2026-10-21
On Thursday, October 22, we will release an additional update focused entirely on Next e-Invoice. The release resolves several of the items in the list below. Read more here
RESOLVED in the October 19 release
-
The new functionality that allows linked lines to be released on a customer invoice causes a discrepancy in the revenue accounting if the line originated from several different work orders/change orders. - Fixed, and a discrepancy no longer occurs.
-
Display of project name - Now available in e-Invoice
-
Accounting is not automatically saved when marked ready for approval - Accounting is now automatically saved when marked ready for approval.
-
Improvements when creating order lines. The export box is now checked by default for lines where an item has been found in the supplier's price list (remember to review your supplier register and link a price list to the supplier to optimize matching), but you can still change it yourself. If the invoice has several projects, the project from accounting line 1 is suggested automatically, so that you can approve with one click. You can change the project to any of the invoice's projects.
Under review! - It is not possible to change the accounting as the final approver. - Current workaround: The person who approved most recently withdraws their approval, changes the accounting to the correct one, and approves again. Make sure that the person who is supposed to approve has permission to manage accounting. This is shown under the project's approval flow. Under review regarding how this should work going forward
- A final approver cannot remove another final approver's approval even if they belong to the same cost center - Under review regarding how this should work going forward
- It is not possible to change an approval flow that is designated as active on a project. This means that if you want to create a new approval flow to use on all projects, it currently needs to be set manually for each project. - Reviewing a possible solution for mass-updating the approval flow.
- The bubble showing the number of "to-do" items on the e-Invoice button counts differently than before. - Under review regarding how this should work going forward
- It is not possible to select multiple invoices for approval at the same time. - This is because approval is now at the line level. Reviewing whether a solution should be developed to handle the lines of multiple invoices at once.
-
Including subprojects in the approval flow does not work as intended - Under review.
Current workaround: set a different approval path for each project. - The project list is now filtered per user - For some customers, this does not make the work easier. We are reviewing how this should work going forward. Finance administrators can see all projects and distribute the invoice lines to the correct projects.
- Warning when someone in the approval path is missing - For example, if a site manager has been added as part of the approval path but no site manager has been specified on the project, we want to visualize this in e-Invoice. Reviewing a solution
- A due date is now required in e-Invoice; previously, it could be omitted - However, it is required in the accounting system and was previously handled through the integration when the value in e-Invoice was blank. Solution: Enter a due date. We will review whether this should be changed back, but it is not the highest priority.
- Clarification regarding the option to add an attachment in e-Invoice - You can add an attachment in e-Invoice, but note that the attachment is not transferred to the accounting system or to posted costs in Next.
- Performance issues in e-Invoice - A handful of customers have reported performance issues in e-Invoice, with certain actions taking a long time. We are investigating why these customers are affected.
-
There are indications that line-level Interpretation works differently than before - A partial correction has been made. Export is not checked by default, and the project is not retrieved. We are looking into this!
Current workaround: Export must be checked manually until this is resolved, and the values must be entered manually. Note! Also make sure that you have entered a prioritized price list. This is specified for the supplier in the supplier register, under the "Advanced" tab, to ensure the correct matching with items. - The entire page must be reloaded when creating a new supplier in e-Invoice - Affects some customers. If you experience this, please contact support and show what happens.
- A timestamp is missing from the approval in e-Invoice - A correction is being worked on
- Credit yes or no is only possible before an invoice is marked "Ready for approval" - Under review and will be adjusted.
- Accounting cannot be saved - In some cases, when invoices are filtered, focus is lost and the accounting cannot be saved. This will be fixed. Current workaround: Select the invoice.
- In some cases where steps 1 and 2 are approved by the same person, the approval cannot be withdrawn – A correction is being developed
- Retrieving previous accounting does not work - A correction is being developed
- Reminder emails to approve an invoice are also sent for invoices that have been disputed. - We are looking into this

- "Show all" in e-Invoice has new logic – If you check Show all, you will see all invoices where you are included in the approval flow at any step, except finance administrators, who see all invoices when Show all is checked. When Show all is unchecked, you will only see the invoices where it is your turn to take action.
- It is not possible to send emails from e-Invoice, for example, to dispute an invoice - It is once again possible to send emails from e-Invoice
- The Project manager column is missing in e-Invoice. – It is now once again possible to view the project manager column. All project managers are displayed. We are continuing to review a new development with a column that displays the next person in the approval path.
- It is not possible to post to accounts that are not marked as expense accounts in the chart of accounts - All accounts can now be selected when posting
- Poor performance in the forecast - Not previously communicated, but this has also been resolved in this fix
-
There are indications that line-level Interpretation works differently than before - A partial correction has been made for line-level interpretation.
(2026-10-06)
- It is not possible to withdraw an approval as the final approver when the invoice has been approved in step 1 or step 2 by another approver. - To withdraw an approval for an earlier step in the approval chain, check "Escalate approval" and then click Withdraw approval.
-
The green check mark is missing on invoices that were approved before the release.
Solution: Withdraw the approval and approve the invoice again, and the green check mark will appear. Alternatively, approve it in the next step, and the invoice will reload and receive two green check marks.

Requests from several of you
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We have received the following request and are reviewing how best to resolve it:
-
The Project manager column is missing in e-Invoice.
We are aware that the project manager column has been removed, and this is due to the new approval flow. Under the "Approval flow" button in e-Invoice, you can see who is supposed to approve in the next step.
With the new approval flow, it is not certain that the project manager is the person who should approve in the next step. Since approval is now at the line level, there may also be several people included in the approval flow. This means that there may be several people next in line to approve the invoice.
We are gathering information about why you would like to have the column and what purpose it serves.
This article is updated continuously until everything has been resolved.
