How to manage Statuses
Statuses are available in several modules in Next Project, including Project, Work order, and Variation order. They make it easy for you to monitor progress across the different modules.
To change or add Statuses, you'll need access to the Admin area.
Once you have access, go to Admin → Settings → Statuses. Under the Statuses tab, you'll find sub-tabs where you can select the group of Statuses you'd like to update.
Settings > Statuses > Project Status tab showing available statuses and assigned colours.
To add a new Status, click on the relevant sub-tab for the group you want to update, then click the Add (+) button.
Settings > Statuses > VO Status tab; note the new empty row being added.
Name — the name of the status.
Code — determines where in the order the status will be placed.
Color — select a color by typing its name or a six-digit color code (e.g., #000000). You can find example colors and codes here.
A couple of things worth keeping in mind: projects with a status code of 40 and above are sent to your financial system if one is integrated. The status of projects and work orders can also affect what is visible to mobile users in Next Mobile — reach out to your administrator if you're unsure of the settings in your database.
Statuses in Next Project

To view the status history of a Project, open the project card and click the highlighted button shown below:
Status and Timeframe panel — note the highlighted button next to the Status field.
This will display the full status history for that project:
