The system allows you to calculate and keep track of the used tax reduction for a customer. This is based on having customer contacts with personal identification numbers (personnummer) registered for the relevant customer.
Watch a short video on how to create invoices with tax reduction. If you prefer a text guide, it is available further down on the page.
Background Settings:
-
In the customer registry's Basic Information tab, mark the customer with the customer type "Privatperson" (Private person).
-
In the Contacts tab, enter the personal identification number (personnummer) and select the option "Fastighetsägare" (Property owner).
-
In the Advanced tab, enter "Fastighetsbeteckning" or "Lägenhetsnummer" and "Brf organisationsnummer" (Property designation or Apartment number and Housing association organization number).
Note: Hours and materials reported that should be the basis for tax reduction must be marked with an account in the Next Project chart of accounts that is labeled as "Arbete" (Work) and "Material."
Create Invoice with Tax Reduction
When creating the invoice base, specify the Tax Reduction Type and Type of Work.
Once the invoice base is created, the distribution is done in the Tax Reduction sub-tab. The base is presented on the left, and the distribution is done on the right.
If, for example, there is a missing person to allocate the amount to, you can correct it using the "Manage Contacts" icon. When a person is added or removed, the amount needs to be redistributed. The remaining amount to be allocated should be zero. Save.
News May 2026 – Split Row
An invoice row can now be split into multiple revenue rows with individual dimensions (project, AO/ÄTA, account). Use the Split Row button in the Invoice Rows tab. The feature is also supported in Tax Reduction Basis – you can split rows by ROT type and manually select which ones are reduction-eligible.

Split line – invoice different types of work
An invoice line can now be split into multiple parts with individual dimensions. It's useful when the invoice contains mixed work types (e.g. ROT Construction + ROT Painting) or when revenue should be distributed across multiple AO/ÄTA.
Click Split line in the toolbar under the Invoice lines tab. Click the green plus to add parts and distribute the amount between them.
In the Select type of work dialog (Tax reduction tab), the split lines are displayed. Select Type of work per part and check which ones should be included in the tax reduction basis.
Other cost: Accounts without the marking Work or Material in the chart of accounts are counted as Other and do not affect the tax reduction. See your account settings under Administration → Ekonomi → Kontoplan.
