The information below only applies to you if you have been linked here from the banner in Next Project.
Your database will be activated for the new login service in Next Project on the evening of the date indicated in your banner. This means that the following morning you will be guided through the activation of your Next ID by starting with logging in as usual.
We ask you as administrators in Next Project to inform all users about the upcoming change and encourage them to read through the manual well in advance before the change takes effect. If problems arise at startup, we appreciate that an administrator is contacted and that this administrator contacts support for further assistance if you cannot resolve the issue internally.
If you have forgotten your password, one of your colleagues who is an administrator in Next needs to help by clicking on New Invitation in the user register. Please note that an email address must be specified for the user.
Important: All users currently in the user register in the database will need a unique email address to enter during the registration process of their Next ID. Without this, you cannot create an account and thus cannot log in. The address that may be specified in the email address column in the user register (Administration → Users, the "Email" field) will be suggested during the registration process, but you are free to use any address you prefer.
What does this mean for you as a user?
Do you have roles in several companies (Next Project databases) in Next Project? Then you will be able to use the same Next ID everywhere – convenient and easy.
A user can choose to skip the registration once within a 24-hour period; after that, registration is required.
What changes for administrators?
- You can no longer set passwords for users. Instead, each user creates their own password when they register their Next ID. This means less administration and higher security.
- When you as an administrator next create a new active user, you start the activation of Next ID simply by saving the user. If you create the new user as inactive, the invitation will be sent as soon as you set the user as active.
- If you activate a user who has not been inactive during the transition to the new login, they will first use their old login and be guided into activating Next ID. If any user has forgotten their password, you will then also need to send a new invitation.
- Good to know – when Next ID is activated in your database, email will become a mandatory field in the user register.

Next ID – a new and more secure login service
Next ID, our new service for login and authentication. This means the current login method is replaced with a new way to log in – using email address as username and a self-chosen password.
Why are we changing the login service?
We want to offer a more secure and flexible login. In the long term, Next ID will also support login via other services, such as Microsoft Entra (Azure AD).
This will also enable simpler and better integrations moving forward.
