This article explains the different methods available for adding files and folders to a project in Next Project. It covers two primary approaches — using the Add button in the toolbar and using drag-and-drop — including how to create new folders, upload documents from a local computer, and link to external document storage such as Google Drive or OneDrive.
There are a couple of ways to add files and folders in Next Project — using the Add button in the toolbar, or by using drag-and-drop. Read on to find out how each method works.
Using the Add button, located on the left side of the toolbar
Using the drag-and-drop function
With the Add function, you can add files or folders from your local computer, and also create new folders.
When you select Add new document, a window opens where you can browse for the files and folders you want to add to your project. You can also drag and drop files and folders directly into this window.

If you have very large files, or if you'd prefer to link to your own document storage — such as Google Drive or OneDrive — simply select Insert link to document instead.

You can also add files and folders by dragging them directly from somewhere like Windows Explorer and dropping them onto the folder in Next Project where you'd like them to go. When you do this, you'll see the same popup window as when you use the Add function.
Create a folder
Select the folder or row where you want the new folder to be created.
Click the green plus icon and select Add folder.
Give your folder a name.
Click OK.
Your folder is now created.
Add a file
Select the folder or row where you want to add the document.
Click the green plus icon and select Add document.
In the Create document dialog, either click Select files to browse your computer, or drag one or more files from your computer into the dialog and drop them there.
Click Upload.
Your documents will be uploaded and added.
Drag and drop
You can drag and drop one or more files — or even an entire folder structure containing folders and files — directly into Next Project.
Select a file, multiple files, or a folder structure on your computer.
Drag the content to the row or folder in Next Project where you want it to go.
Drop the content.
An Upload folder to dialog will open, showing you the content you just dropped.
In the Upload folder to dialog, select the file or files you want to upload. By default, everything is selected for upload unless you make a manual change.
Click Upload.
Your content will begin uploading, and you'll see a progress bar for each file so you can track the upload.
Your content is now uploaded.
