Information 2025-01-27
We have now released our new mobile solution for time reporting and work orders, plus much more! You can access it by logging in as usual on your mobile device, and then you will see an information box "New Next Mobile available", click on Try now.
This release is a so-called soft release, which means that you can switch between the new and old mobile versions during a transition period. Therefore, you are not required to start using the new mobile version from day one, but we recommend that you try to get started with it as soon as you can.
Important information and new functionality!
NOTE! If you want to be able to report articles via the price list, all articles must belong to a Favorites list in Next. Read more about how to create favorites lists in this article:
The previous functionality for reporting salary supplements has been updated and moved so that the reporting is done by entering salary items. See more information in this article on Next helpdesk:

Time Reporting
To report time in the new Next Mobile, start by clicking on the Time option. You will be directed to a new page where you can see previously reported time and, of course, report your time here.
At the top of the page, there is a bar showing the total reported time for the selected week, divided into working time and absence. You can also see an overview of the month by clicking the Overview button.
Below the bar, there is a button for selecting dates; you can choose by week, month, year, and day. Clicking the button with today's date will automatically take you to today's date. You can also switch between days using the arrows.
In the date bar, you can see the number of hours reported per day.
To start a new time report, click the + button; you will then see several options to perform the reporting.
Time Reporting Step 1
When you enter time registration, you can see previously registered entries for the current day, but you can also add a new report for the selected day.
- Select the day you want to report time for.
- Click the + button. Three options will appear:
- Work, report time against a project
- Absence, report absence
- Copy previous day, the option to copy the previous day's report. This is a setting in Next, and it is not certain that you will see this option depending on how your Next is configured and the decisions your company has made regarding this issue.
Time Reporting Step 2
After selecting the type of report you want to make, in this case, time, you will be taken to a form where you need to fill in details for the day.
The information to be filled in is the same as before in Next Mobile, namely:
- Date of the performed work
- Select the Project where you have been working, click on the row to bring up a search box where you can, among other things, search for projects and mark frequently worked-on projects as favorites (see image 2 below).
- In the Work Order row, select the work order or Variation Order (VO) you have worked on in the selected project.
- In the Role row, choose the time role you have in the current assignment.
- In the Hours field, enter the number of hours you have worked.
- Journal Note, the field where you fill in what you have done during the day in text.
Below the various fields, you have the option to add a photo from your camera or photo library on the device you are currently using. When a picture is taken, a small preview of the picture is shown, which you can click on for a closer look.
The +Add button allows you to add extra information to your time report, e.g., salary comments.
At the bottom of the page, click Continue to proceed to the next step.
Time Reporting Step 3
After completing the step of reporting time, you will automatically proceed to the next step, which is reporting items such as resources, salary supplements, and more.
In this view, at the top, you will see your Favorites, i.e., the items that are linked to a favorites list.
You will also see the Price List option where you can fetch other items from the price lists in Next.
To report, select the quantity of the item you are reporting, and also select if, for example, you have salary supplements.
When you are finished, click the Save button to proceed, and you will have completed your time reporting.
You can also skip reporting items.
Time Reporting - Overview
When the reporting is completed, you will automatically return to the time reporting home page. Here, your completed report will be displayed along with information about your role and the number of items you have reported. You will also see the number of hours you have reported.
If you want to report more entries on the same day, you can do so without any issues. You can also edit a report by clicking on it. When your time is approved, the hours will be marked in green.
Time Reporting - Adding Additional Information
You can add supplementary information to a time report after you have created the time entry.
- Open the time entry.
- Click on + Add at the bottom of the page.
- Select what additional information you want to include, such as an additional item or a salary comment.
Time Reporting - Reporting Absence and Extended Absence
Previously, you could report absence in Next, but now you can also easily supplement that information with mandatory details, such as information about the child you have taken leave to care for (see the image on the left below).
Under the option Repeat over time period, you can set an interval over which you want to report your absence, e.g., 3 weeks of vacation from July 1st to July 22nd. In the example below, the image on the right shows a report of being on leave from January 27th to February 2nd, covering all weekdays during this period.
Reporting Work Orders
As before, you also have the option to work with work orders in Next. One of several updates regarding this, in addition to a new interface, is the ability to work more efficiently with checklists.
In image 1 below, we have clicked into Work Orders/Variation Orders (WO/VO) and are about to search for the work order we will work on. In the header row, there are three options:
- Assigned to me: These are all work orders where you are assigned as the responsible service person, responsible supervisor, or planned in the resource planning in the Next client.
- Pool: This is the common service pool assigned to a work order, where all people in the pool can see the work orders.
- All Work Orders/Variation Orders (WO/VO): All available work orders in all projects that I am authorized for and that have a status visible on the phone. Here, you can also easily search for a work order or additional work.
In image 2 below, I have searched for the work order Renovation of 2 bedroom apartment, and see the information about the current order.
In this view, you can also add more work orders or variation orders via the orange + button!
When you are inside the work order, there are several functions related to the work order. At the very top, you will see a Back button and the text Work Order.
To the right of the Work Order heading, you have a shortcut to create a journal entry for the current work order. Note that this is not the same as entering time—it is a link to the journal function in Next.
In this part of the mobile app, you will see information about the work order and the project, as well as a button to edit/change the work order.
Below this row, there are two tabs: Assignments and Resources and Articles. Assignments is the default tab and shows general information about the Work Orders/Variation Orders (WO/VO), and the Resources and Articles tab shows reported order lines/articles for the current WO/VO. Other functions on the page include:
- Customer: Displays information about the customer related to the Work Orders/Variation Orders (WO/VO).
- Location Information: Information about the address and/or GPS coordinates for the AO/ÄTA. Here, you can also register coordinates while in the field, which is practical if you want to mark a work order with an exact location on a map. You can also see a Google Maps map in this view.
- Assignment Description: Text information about what is to be done.
- Feedback: Text field where the executor writes what has been addressed in the work order/ÄTA.
- Responsible Service Person: Who is currently responsible for the work order.
- Production Start and Production End: Dates for starting and completing the work order.
- Status: Current status of the work order.
- Checklist for Work Order: Shows current checklists that have been or will be performed on the work order. You can have multiple checklists on a work order. See more information in the article Working with Checklists in Next.
- Photos/Documents: Linked photos and documents related to the work order.
- Add: Button to add more items to the work order, such as a checklist, time report, or additional photos.
- Save: Saves the current work order with any changes that have been made.
Documents
For each work order and variation order (WO/VO), you can attach documents, images, links, etc., which can be viewed on the mobile device. For example, when you have uploaded a PDF document that you want to share to the mobile app, you can choose in the Next client whether the document should be visible on the mobile.
When you are in the mobile app, click on the Documents option at the bottom of the toolbar. You will then be taken to a view as shown in the image on the right.
Here, first select the project and work order or variation order where the document or image you want to open is located. Once this is done, all shared images and documents will be listed in a preview list with thumbnails of images and information about other shared documents.
Through the mobile app, you can upload new images directly. You can either take a new photo or choose one or several images from your photo library on your mobile device.
Click the + button to do this.
You can also search for images in the selected project/work order/variation order.
To open an image or a document, click on it, and a larger view will be displayed where you can see more information about the image/document. Using the Details button, you can download the image if you wish. You can also adjust the description and date of the image if needed in this view.
Reports
The Reports menu option in the mobile app allows you to create various types of PDF documents that you can save and send, for example, to a client or for internal use.
In the mobile app, there are several predefined report templates that can be very flexibly customized. The images below show the different reports that can be created and how, for example, a work order report can be customized with content.
The different reports available are:
- Work Order: A report to gather information from the work order, including checklists, information about hours, order lines, images, and more.
- Daily Report: A report more suited for extracting data for multiple work orders or projects. It can detail order lines, hours, images, and much more.
- Variation Order Specification (VO): A specification of the contents of an ÄTA with information about, for example, compensation forms, order lines, costs, checklists, and much more.
- Journal Report: A report focused on the journal with details about order lines, images, checklists, and prices for additional/variation work.
- Daily Report (Hours): In the hours section, you can generate a report on recorded time and order lines, journal notes, etc., which can include one or several projects.
Creating a Report
To create a report, first select the report you want and then configure the parts you wish to include in the report. Once you have completed your selections, click on Create Report, and the report will be generated as a PDF file that you can either save or email.
The generated report can span multiple pages, and it is easy to navigate through the pages using the left and right arrows.
It is also possible to sign a report directly on the mobile device by writing your signature directly in a designated box. At the bottom of the report, you will find buttons for the following actions:
- Sign: Sign and save the report.
- Save: Save the report as a PDF in the current work order.
- Send: Email the report to any recipient.
- Print: Print the report.
Settings
In the toolbar at the bottom of the mobile app, there is also a function to configure settings for your user profile. Here, for example, you can change your password.
At the top, you will see your current user, and here you can also log out if needed using the orange button.
Settings
- Language: Here you can change the language of your Next Mobile.
- Change Password: Here you change your password.
- Clear Offline Data: Clears stored data that is saved in your phone related to Next Mobile.
- Clear selection child: When you report VAB (care of sick child) and enter the child(ren) you are taking leave for, these children are saved in a list linked to your user. If you want to clear this list, you do it here.
