Getting started as an administrator

This article provides a step-by-step overview for administrators getting started with Next Dox, covering essential tasks such as logging in, creating folders, uploading and managing files, and configuring user access. It guides administrators through setting up admin groups and creating users to establish proper permissions within a project.

Welcome to Next Dox! Follow the steps below to get up and running with your project quickly.

Log in to the project

  1. To log in, you'll need an account created by your administrators. When they create one for you, you'll receive an email with a link to set your password. They may also invite you by sending a registration link that you can use to create your account.
  2. Once you have an account, you can log in to your project — see Log in.

Create folders

  1. Your folders and files are displayed in Explorer — see Open Explorer.
  2. To create folders, see Create folder. If you'd like to create similar subfolders inside a new folder, you can also copy them — see Copy folder.
  3. If you need to edit, move, or delete folders, see Explorer.

Upload files

  1. Once your folder structure is in place, you're ready to start uploading files — see Upload files.

List files

  1. You can display your files in different views — see List files.

Download files

  1. To download files from your projects to your computer, see Download files.

Managing files

  1. To change the file name or description of individual files, see Edit files.
  2. If you want to manage several files at the same time, you can select them first — see Select files.
  3. If you need to manage, copy, or move several files at once, see Explorer.

Create admin groups

  1. Rights are controlled by admin groups — see Admin groups. Here you can create groups and set who can do what in each folder.

Create users

  1. Once you've created your admin groups, you can create users — see Create user. You can either create users yourself or invite them by sending a registration link.

Log out

  1. When you're done working in the project, you can log out — see Log out.
